There are a lot of ways in making a website rank competitively on the search engine and you don’t have to be a web wizard to push your site up. Just keep reading this article and you’ll get to know some practical tips that could boost your site’s potentials towards higher rankings and more traffic.
Don’t just settle for one keyword; target two or more keywords on your page title
Remember that search engine optimization is all about numbers – from links to rankings and pages to algorithms. Each page can accommodate two or more keywords or key phrases. So why shoot for just one keyword if you can get for two or more?
Take this example: If your keyword is “search engine optimization,” you could add it up by doing more keyword research and broader keyword combinations. So instead of search engine optimization, you could also have “affordable SEO company” or “search engine optimization Australia.”
Place your texts on the internal links
So you can categorize the theme of your webpage, search engines take a peek on both the internal and external anchor texts linked to your pages. Using descriptive anchor texts on the internal links is the easiest way of telling the search engine the rank that it aspires.
Also, avoid using the usual texts, like “click here.” Instead, try using more enticing words, like “more about affordable SEO company,” or “about professional SEO Australia.”
Write your copy leads in inverted pyramid style
If you read newspapers and press releases, you can see that the lead tells something or summarizes the story itself. The first sentence of the first paragraph also tells about the most important detail of the story and provides the essential points that make you want to read more.
We call this the inverted pyramid style. Instead of placing the most important ideas at the end of the storyline, try to put it at the beginning and follow it up with details to entice the readers to learn more.
The most important part of this style is the headline. Be able to write a knock-out lead that summarizes the content and gives the readers the information that they are looking for, all while using the relevant keywords necessary for the search engine rankings.
